Brighton Preschool Ground Breaking

Bv Micki Diaz

BRIGHTON -- Groundbreaking ceremonies took place at 11 a.m. on May 5 for the new Preschool and Childcare building. The preschool children along with their teachers helped with the ceremonies. In attendance were employees from different departments and the children with their teachers from Childcare.

The Headstart teachers from each center along with Rondelle McMonagle and Nicole Epstein; Brighton Council Representative, Jack Smith Jr.; Brighton Board Representative. Roger Smith all joined together to break the ground for the building. The new Preschool and Childcare building will allow each program to admit more children to attend.

The ceremonies started off with the preschool children reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance" and the Pledge to the flag of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The children did an excellent job of reciting both pledges. The officials gave a welcoming speech thanking everyone for attending. After the ceremonies were completed, everyone was treated to a delicious lunch in the gymnasium.

Construction is set to begin soon. By looking at the building floor plans, it is going to look great!
