The Department is responsible for providing a variety of services to the residents of The Seminole Tribe. The Department’s main function is to administer and manage the construction, operation and maintenance of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s infrastructure for water, waste water & distribution collection systems, facilities and sanitation services to meet existing and future needs of the Tribal Council and community.
The Public Works Department consists of the following divisions: Administration, Maintenance & Operations, Solid Waste Disposal, Utilities – including Water, Waste Water & Distribution/Collection Systems, Road Maintenance and Construction.
The Administration Division functions as the Department's coordinator and provides leadership to the Department as a whole. Administration also serves as the support division for the entire Department.
The Maintenance & Operations Division consists of our Field Staff and Project Managers who service a variety of needs and supplies for the Department ranging from fleet coordination to equipment function, day to day operation and construction services, septic system rehabilitation to new construction and electrical support.
The Solid Waste Disposal Division handles the disposal of all residential household waste, including bulk trash and recycled goods.
Water: The Utilities Division oversees the production of ground water to the residential property for consumption and use.
Waste Water: treatment of sewage water with high quality effluent (discharge) for reuse.
Distribution/Collection: supplies potable and irrigation water (where applicable) and collection of sewer water as well as upkeep of water mains and lift stations.
